Anaheim Parking Guide

Can I park overnight in Anaheim?

It depends on the posted sign and district. Permit districts may require a permit from midnight to 6 AM, all day, or at other posted times. This app provides city rules and tips for Anaheim; it does not yet determine parking permission for individual streets.

What are Anaheim's overnight permit hours?

Read the curb sign and district record. The city GIS defines O as overnight 12 AM–6 AM, A as all day/24-7, and E as an exception described in NOTES. The GIS layer is evidence for district records, not a substitute for the posted sign. Street-level map verdict is unavailable here.

Who can get a residential permit?

Residents of currently implemented permit-eligible districts. Registered owners in eligible, implemented districts can apply with identification and vehicle registration at that address. If identification lacks the address, proof of residency is required. Household limits: 0–2 bedrooms, one permit; 3–4, two; 5+, three. Each costs $30 and lasts two years. One-day guest permits cost $1, up to 100 per calendar year. Disability placards exempt permit parking only. RVs/trailers and short-term rentals are not eligible.

How long can a vehicle stay on a public street?

Parking for 72 consecutive hours or more is prohibited. AMC § 14.32.191 applies to streets, highways, City-owned or maintained property, parking lots and structures. Other restrictions can apply sooner. Vehicles in violation may be removed with applicable notice procedures, and towing/storage charges may apply.

When does street-sweeping service run, and when is parking enforcement posted?

Usually Monday–Thursday, 8 AM–noon or noon–4 PM by route. Friday alley and major-street sweeping is ticketed only where signs are posted. Citations are issued under CVC 22507.6 where No Parking for Street Sweeping signs are posted; the 2026 holiday schedule and 21-day citation deadline are on the city page. Heavy rain may cancel service. The linked residential sweep map is dated August 24, 2009 and does not show Friday routes; confirm the current posted schedule.

Can an RV or oversized vehicle park on the street?

Generally no, unless a specific exception applies. Current AMC § 14.32.206 covers vehicles over 22 feet long, or both over 7 feet wide and over 7 feet high, plus specified RV/trailer types. It prohibits public-street stopping and parking, not just overnight stays. Exceptions include qualifying emergencies up to 24 hours, government/utility work, active loading at the adjacent property (within 400 feet only when the adjacent curb is unavailable under the stated conditions), qualifying loading/travel preparation with a city placard, and service work on that block. Read the complete conditions; a residential permit is not an RV permit.

Are trucks or trailers restricted overnight?

Covered vehicles may not park from 3–6 AM. AMC § 14.32.200 applies to trucks, trailers, or truck/trailer combinations with a manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 lb or more on any street in Anaheim. Residential-zone and oversized-vehicle restrictions may apply separately; do not treat the remaining hours as blanket permission.

What curb restrictions should I check?

Check red curbs, fire lanes, hydrants, driveways, sidewalks, alleys, and tow-away signs. APD lists these as common violations and references AMC/CVC provisions including red curbs, fire lanes, blocked driveways or sidewalks, double parking, alley parking, disabled parking, permit-only areas, and no-stopping zones. Violations may result in citation or impound.

Is the street-level answer verified?

No — treat this as a city guide and verify the sign at the exact space. The city publishes district GIS fields and general rules, but this profile has no street-level map verdict.

What should I check before leaving?

Read every sign, check the curb, and confirm the sweeping window. A holiday marked ‘no sweeping, no citations’ only cancels that sweeping operation; it does not make red curbs, permit rules, time limits, or other posted restrictions legal. A holiday marked ‘sweeping, no citations’ still means sweeping occurs, even though that table says no sweeping citation.
