What is the overnight rule?
The 2–5 AM rule covers oversized and nonmotorized vehicles. §40-153 applies in residential zoning districts to public streets, privately owned streets and driveways. Standard passenger cars remain subject to signs and permit zones.
How does the 72-hour rule work?
No more than 72 consecutive hours. §40-137 prohibits parking on a street or alley for more than 72 consecutive hours; overnight exemptions do not override it.
When is street sweeping?
Street-sweeping service runs weekly, usually noon–3 PM on the weekday after trash collection. These are service hours, not a curb-level parking verdict. A recognized holiday may shift trash service and cancel related enforcement that week; contact the City before relying on a hardship exception.
What about permits, RVs, or oversized vehicles?
Permit Zones A and B add 2–5 AM restrictions. The named streets in Zones A and B require permits. The City also offers advance confirmation-number exemptions for affected vehicles and guests, subject to annual limits.

What should I verify at the space?
Read the current sign and curb first. This city guide cannot verify every council resolution, temporary notice, private street, permit status, or side-of-street condition. A missing map record never means parking is allowed.
