What is the overnight rule?
On a posted street, parking longer than 30 minutes is prohibited from 2–4 AM. PMC §13.48.070 applies this restriction to streets posted with a sign. An unposted block is not blanket permission because other rules may still apply.
How does the 72-hour rule work?
No more than 72 hours in any 73-hour period. PMC §13.48.050 uses an aggregate 72-in-73-hour test rather than a simple consecutive-hours rule.
When is street sweeping?
Residential routes are generally twice monthly. The City publishes 11 schedule zones, but posted hours govern each block and enforcement does not depend on whether the sweeper has passed.
What about permits, RVs, or oversized vehicles?
RVs and recreational apparatus are generally prohibited on streets. PMC §13.48.190 applies at all times unless a listed exception or valid City permit applies. Permit types and annual limits differ.

What should I verify at the space?
Read the current sign and curb first. This city guide cannot verify every council resolution, temporary notice, private street, permit status, or side-of-street condition. A missing map record never means parking is allowed.
The cited parking chapter, sweeping page, and RV permit page were checked on 2026-09-15. Installed signs, permit status, temporary notices, and street-level conditions were not fully verified.
